“When is the best time to paint our exterior” is the question we get asked a lot. The answer typically is once its thirty five degrees outside. Although certain things can effect that here in the mid west. The paints and stains we typically use are latex and are appropriate for the thirty five degree weather.

You ideally want warm days and want to avoid rain as much as possible. However we all know April and may both usually have quite a bit of rain. Before you start your exterior house painting project we would suggest that you check out the 7 day forecast.

The best time to paint each year is normally spring and fall. this is when the heat and humidity is lower. Humidity can cause bubbles in the paint and also cause the paint to fail prematurely.

This year Richmond Painting will be start exterior painting season on Monday March 25th in New Berlin Wisconsin. We have started as early as March 9th in the past years and as late as mid April.

We have painted as far onto the year as December 10th in the past eleven years we have been in business. Although a good rule of thumb is the third week in November.

Richmond Painting is always trying to follow the industry standards and do quality work above the normal expectations. We always try to educate our customers so they know the basics and why we do things the way we do as professionals.
