EXTERIOR PAINTING IN KENOSHA WISCONSIN
Our team completed an exterior painting project in 2015 on 7th Avenue in the historical district of Kenosha, Wisconsin. The homeowners contacted us early in the year but decided to wait until late fall. They were referred to us by a lawyer whose office we had painted earlier that year.
The owners were accommodating and opted to keep the same colors. However, we discovered some rotted wood and referred a local carpenter to tend to their needs. Since it was a historical home, repairs required a level of detail and custom cuts beyond our on-staff carpenter’s ability. We also had to use a significant amount of caulk to seal all gaps, preventing water penetration.
We had two guys in charge of scraping and ensuring that no loose or peeling paint remained before priming with an oil-based Zinsser primer. The majority of the wood window panes required glazing before painting due to chips and missing parts. We used Sherwin Williams Super paint with a satin finish for the final coat.
This was a lead paint project, and we followed all the rules set forth by the EPA. We also faced winds due to the property’s proximity to Lake Michigan.
The homeowners were thrilled with the outcome, and we ensured that all surfaces were prepared correctly and the windows were glazed to perfection. The green and cream colors we used matched the historical home perfectly. We offer a three-year warranty for all our exterior painting projects and schedule annual inspections by the owner or estimator to guarantee the longevity of the project.
