Richmond Painting & Decorating was established in January of 2008 by myself Matt Richmond.

The first few years were really rough, especially winter.Through two different Milwaukee-based painting companies, a Subcontracting contract had been found, which was where we honed our skills and knowledge in the residential market. Afterward, we decided to leave the companies we had worked for and expand our services by adding a Commercial division. It was then that Richmond Painting truly began to flourish.We painted everything form Taco Bell, Buffalo Wild Wings, Hobby Lobby and quite a bit of Dicks Sporting Goods stores across the country. The last edition in 2014 was Epoxy floors which we enjoy a lot.

PDCA and networking

The next big step was when I found the PDCA (painting & Decorating Contractors of America} which is the only Painters only trade association in America. My family use to always say you should go out and find a mentor? My response was “what painter is going to help another painter out?” Well it turns out there is an entire organization devoted to this and it has become one of my passions. I absolutely love helping other painting contractors. You’re not giving your secrets away, your helping and in the process making the playing field much more fair and even. My next favorite thing is networking, I love meeting new people and making contacts. I like to attend as many networking events as my schedule allows.

Family and my life…

For the past 18 years, I’ve poured my heart and soul into building Richmond Painting into the company it is today. Every decision, every long day, and every late night has been driven by one beautiful dream: that one day my daughter Ariella will have something truly her own to be proud of.

At just fourteen years old, Ariella is the reason I wake up every morning with purpose. She’s my greatest motivation — the spark that keeps me pushing forward through every challenge and every triumph.

When I’m not working on the business or spending time with my family, I find joy in simple passions. I love watching baseball, heading out for deer hunting, and I’m excited to pick up golfing again this year after far too long away from the course.

I’m also deeply passionate about health and fitness. I do my best to eat clean and I commit to working out at least five times a week. As a proud new member of Team Beachbody, I recently achieved my goal of becoming a certified spin instructor — a milestone that fills me with pride and energy.

Above all, I’m driven by deep motivation. My business and my family are my two greatest priorities in life. Staying healthy isn’t just about me — it’s so I can fully enjoy every moment with the people I love and be strong enough to help and inspire others along the way.
